THIS YEAR’S THEME

WHAT IS THE TRUE MEANING OF HINMAIY?

Youths today are conditioned to believe Hinmaiy means just “Hard-work”. But does hard-work only get us anywhere?

Hinmay is a Dhivehi word which does not only mean hard-work. It means consistent hard-work or indefatigable. The origin of this word is an Arabic word Himmah (همة) which also means something alike; Determination, enthusiasm.
